Introducing myself to someone usually goes the same way. I tell them my name is Sienke, 22 years old, and that I am studying industrial sciences in nuclear technology. When saying these last words all I see are thoughtful faces.
And I wonder why!
I am not really different than any other girl. My favorite colors are purple and pink, I have over ten pairs of shoes and I have a cat that I adore. But besides that I love science!
The reason I am starting this blog is because there are so many women who did great things in science and still girls rarely choose for a career in this direction. In this blog I will write about women who have invented something, women who have won the Nobel Prize, female engineers and astronauts and lots of other things. I will also write about my own experiences.
And I hope that someday you will encourage your daughters, your sisters, your friends and maybe even your mother to do something in science because there is no reason why they should not.

Great start
Best of luck with your new blog.
I am so happy to be able to witness the launch of this blog. Encouraging girls to enter science, engineering and technology fields has become important to me as an educator. For girls to be able to follow someone they can identify with is an important element in this process. Well done Sienke!
I’m glad to see that you are choosing to share your thoughts and experiences with the world. I look forward to reading your posts!
Best of luck! A worthy cause.
Great to see this initiative, looking forward it’s development. Very best of luck.
I can’t wait to see more. Let us know what you are working on too!
For the moment no projects running but when school starts again I certainly will write about them.
And thank you all for your support!
